Check Lines

Check Lines is a vintage two-player abstract strategy game, and this copy is the 1970 Tri-ang edition, a little pocket game. Each player has five pieces on a lopsided board. The aim is to be first to arrange all five into two straight lines of three, with one piece shared between them.

Gobgob's games are well loved, so some might be missing a piece or two. Spot something missing? Tell us straight away at the counter or by message, so we can try to replace it.

About the game

This little game has been out-thinking people since 1970.

Gobgob's favourite bit: Two lines of three from only five pieces means one piece has to pull double duty in both lines. Gobgob calls it the hardest-working piece in the box.

Borrowing by post

Members anywhere in New Zealand can borrow by post. Postal swaps go out every Thursday. The cutoff is Wednesday 10pm for Thursday delivery.

Postage out is charged at our normal website shipping rates, and you pay to post games back to us.

Missing pieces and damage

Check the box when you borrow it. If a piece is missing, tell us at the counter so it isn't charged to you.

Pieces that go missing or get damaged while a game is with you can be charged up to the game's RRP, unless our staff waive it. Normal wear and tear is fine. The full details are in the library terms.
