Magic is real, and the Met has a department for it. Gobgob applied and is still waiting to hear back.
Rivers of London: The Roleplaying Game is Chaosium's tabletop RPG based on Ben Aaronovitch's Rivers of London novels. Players are new recruits to the Folly, the Metropolitan Police's special magic branch, solving mysteries, catching criminals and meeting the demi-monde, people changed forever by magic. The core rulebook covers making characters, the setting, police work in London, advice for the Game Moderator and the novels' "Newtonian" magic with a full spell list, plus two adventures and exclusive short fiction by Aaronovitch. It runs on Chaosium's d100 Basic Roleplaying system, the same family as Call of Cthulhu and RuneQuest.
Gobgob's favourite bit: A solo adventure based on the short story The Domestic lets one player learn the rules before the group meets up. Gobgob did their homework early, for once.
