Mancala

Mancala is a classic two-player strategy game, and one of the oldest games in the world. Take turns scooping up the gemstones from one of your pits and sowing them one by one around the board. The aim is simple: collect more gemstones than your opponent by the end. Getting there is the tricky part.

Gobgob's games are well loved, so some might be missing a piece or two. Spot something missing? Tell us straight away at the counter or by message, so we can try to replace it.

About the game

Goblins love shiny things. This game is full of them.

Gobgob's favourite bit: Counting the gems in a pit and working out exactly where the last one will land. Gobgob uses their fingers. No shame.

📦 In the box: a folding wooden Mancala board, 48 glass gemstones and a rule sheet.

Borrowing by post

Members anywhere in New Zealand can borrow by post. Postal swaps go out every Thursday. The cutoff is Wednesday 10pm for Thursday delivery.

Postage out is charged at our normal website shipping rates, and you pay to post games back to us.

Missing pieces and damage

Check the box when you borrow it. If a piece is missing, tell us at the counter so it isn't charged to you.

Pieces that go missing or get damaged while a game is with you can be charged up to the game's RRP, unless our staff waive it. Normal wear and tear is fine. The full details are in the library terms.
