Pandemic is the classic co-op board game by Matt Leacock, published by Z-Man Games. Four deadly diseases are spreading around the world, and your team of specialists has to stop them. On your turn, spend up to four actions to fly between cities, treat infections, share knowledge, build research stations and collect matching cards to discover cures. Then the infection deck spreads more disease, and hidden Epidemic cards make things much worse. Cure all four diseases and everyone wins. Let outbreaks get out of hand, or run out of time, and everyone loses. A modern classic and one of the best ways into co-op games.

Gobgob's favourite bit: Outbreaks. Let a city get too sick and the disease spills into every neighbouring city, which can set off a chain reaction round the globe. Gobgob screams every time.
